Slabs
Slabs are produced according to Wagstaff LHC Technology (Low Head Composite Casting Process) by avertical, semi-continuous casting on modern equipment with effective refining units for liquid metal.
They are intended for hot-rolling to produce plates, sheets, strips and foil. Slabs are cast from primary aluminum and aluminum alloys, whose chemical composition is prescribed by international regulations and/or customer requirements.
When ordering it is necessary to specify slab dimensions according to our table, cutting length and type of aluminum or alloy by referring to any of the valid standards. Slabs are delivered in various lengths and unpacked.
Slabs:
| Thickness x Width (mm) | Weight per charge (t) |
| 360 x 1,350 | 34.8 |
| 510 x 1,060 | 28 |
| 510 x 1,120 | 28.7 |
| 510 x 1,200 | 29.4 |
| 510 x 1,310 | 34.8 |
| 510 x 1,370 | 27.2 |
| 510 x 1,490 | 29.9 |
| 510 x 1,560 | 28.2 |
| 510 x 1,680 | 30.6 |
| 520 x 1,540 | 32.8 |
Maximum technical capabilities of the casting equipment are:
| Max. casting length | 7,000 mm |
| Max. casting width | 2,000 mm |
| Max. casting thickness | 600 mm |
| Max. cutting width | 2,000 mm |
| Max. cutting thickness | 600 mm |
