A significant step was made towards the establishing of an environment protection system as well as a protection of workers which is an example of a successful and modern way of manufacturing and doing business.

The second half of June 2002 will stay remembered in the history of Aluminij as the completion of the modernization of the company. In fact, the changes made in manufacturing and environment safety also investments in modernization stood Aluminij d.d. Mostar 150 million marks. Significant benefits from the modernization that the Aluminij accomplished in that short period of time are increased manufacturing aluminum for about 25%, with the simultaneously decreasing of particular electric power costs and raw materials. Furthermore, the increased humanization of labor and a better environment protection plan are not dreams anymore, but since June 2002 have become reality.

With the implementation of new technologies and modernization of existing product capacities, productivity has increased in a great amount. Before the war destructions 3.400 workers produced around 92.000 tons of metal, while today 950 workers produce 117.000 tons of primary alluminium and alluminium alloys, that is a figure that tells a lot about an exceptional rate of productivity.
