In recent days, the members of the  Board of Directors of Aluminij d.d. Mostar (CEO Ivo Bradvica, Executive Director of Technical Affairs and Development Željko Boras and Executive Director of Economic, Financial Accounting and Commercial Affairs Mladen Galić) had a range of activities in the field of working out and implementation preparing of a number of key strategic and development projects in Aluminij.

In the first place, they were hosted by the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development and by a company D.D. Inc. srl Construzioni Meccaniche.  They also visited a large power plant for the solar energy exploitation in Udine. This has been an introduction to possibilities of the use of renewable energy sources, which would guarantee a safer and cheaper electricity supply for Aluminij.

Furthermore, in Zagreb they attended the presentation organized by the experts of the Austrian company Hertwich Engineering GmbH, in regards to possibility of supply of the furnaces for melting and casting of aluminium and aluminium alloys, as well as the cast alloy production line in the form of ingots of 6 to 8 kilograms. The above mentioned furnace, as the Mostar casthouse upgrade project, would ensure Aluminij the ability to increase its annual production by 50 thousand tons of additional quantities of the highest quality aluminium in the world, for which there is an evident need in the domestic but also in the global market. As we have reachedan agreement with our longtime partner (the Swiss company Glencore International AG) about the funding, Aluminij may conclude a contract for this investment by the end of the current year and the installation of the furnace and the production line could be fully completed by December of 2012.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Aluminij, the Executive Director Željko Boras attended the last week's session of the House of Representatives of the Assembly of the Federation BiH, where we were invited as the biggest exporter in this entity, given that the theme of the session was the Identification and elimination of administrative obstacles with the aim to improve the business environment in BiH. The possibilities to stimulate the exporters were also discussed.
