The Blood Donor Association of Aluminij d.d. Mostar organized one more blood donating within the company (the first one this year) following the announcement as of January 14th 2010 (Thursday). Smiljan Matanović, the coordinator, said that 30 employees had  answered the call and 25 of them had donated their blood while the other five were deferred due medical reasons, mainly due to anemia.
Among male colleagues this time there were 3 ladies: Antonija Višekruna, Ph.D., Nada Palac and Marica Galić. The blood donating took place at the Education Centre in Aluminij and this has been the matter  of traditional and successful cooperation of the Mostar smelter and the Blood Transfusion Department  of the University Clinical Hospital ever  since 1983.
Every  blood donation provides safer situation at the Surgery Department of the Clinical Hospital and, of course, many saved lives. Aluminij d.d. Mostar in cooperation with the Blood Transfusion Department organizes blood donation three times a year, in January, May and August or September and Mr. Matanović said that there would be an organized bus trip for  blood donors  to Blidinje (the nature park) on Saturday (January 16th ). Departure is at 8 a.m. in front of the Karting Club restaurant.
