With the first meeting of the Administrative Council of APPA, at the seat of TT Kabeli company at Široki Brijeg , this association officially started with its public  activities.
The meeting was attended by  the representatives of : Aluminij d.d. Mostar, Presal Extrusion d.o.o. Široki Brijeg, Feal d.o.o. Široki Brijeg, Fe-Al d.o.o. Mostar, Kapis d.o.o. Tomislavgrad, TT kabeli d.o.o. Široki Brijeg, Alpro a.d. Vlasenica i Alloy Wheels d.o.o. Jajce, and the association was also  joint by  TMD-AGS d.o.o from  Gradačac.
At  the  meeting  it  was  said  that APPA will work on development  and  improvement of business environment  in  Bosnia and  Herzegovina  and the  Federation  of BiH,  protection of  the export oriented  companies  and cooperation  establishing  with the local and foreign institutions. In addition to the only aluminium producer in Bosnia  and  Herzegovina  the association  gathers  the  biggest  aluminium  producers of  this  metal in the state as well as almost 400 related producers which makes more than 5,000 employees. This sector is more than 80 % export oriented and  makes  more  than  635 million of  KM  of the annual income earnings from  export, i.e. 151,000  tones,   and  it  imports  raw materials in the amount of 193 million KM (41,000 tones).
Therefore, it is an active exporter with 442 million KM and coverage of imports by exports of 329.02 percent. Aluminium sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina has had positive export-import ratio even in times of crisis.
Nevertheless, the most important issues of the aluminium industry such as electricity price and heating oil, plinification, state  stimulations etc., still remain unresolved.  The association will address all these issues and in an organized manner towards the state institutions at all levels.
"The state can help us with corrections of the electricity prices which  directly effects  the price of aluminium and aluminium products and it can support us with legal solutions in the fields of  customs, taxes, guarantees etc. In aluminium production alumina and electricity price amount 60 percent of total costs so the state should find the solution in the segment  where it  is objectively possible  and that is stability in supply and electricity price", said the leadership of APPA.
As a reminder, APPA was founded at the Inaugural Meeting on October 27th 2009 at the seat of Presal Extrusion d.o.o. from Široki Brijeg and it was registered in the Association Registry on December 30th 2009.
